CST 311 Weekly Journal #6
Weekly Journal
This week, I got to understand the principles of the network control plane and focus on how networks manage and control data flow. Furthermore, I got to practice routing algorithms and their practical uses. as well as the Software Defined Networking control plane, which offers a modern, flexible approach to network management. In addition, I studied the Internet Control Message Protocol and its critical role in diagnostics and networks. I also got to get some hands-on experience, with figuring out the basics of SDN controllers using Mininet and Wireshark to capture and analyze network traffic. Additionally, I began programming a complex emulation of network topology with four networks, three routers, and two servers using the Mininet API. It was a good experience and pretty simple once I got the hang of everything. Once I saw everything come together it was really nice seeing how it worked. In conclusion, this week's assignments where really mellow and didn't take that much work to do. I'm going to prepare for the final exam this week and make sure I get a better grade than I got last time.
