CST 311 Weekly Journal #7
Weekly Journal
This week, I learned about the workings of link layer services. In addition, how certain things work like error detection and correction. Furthermore, I dove into learning more about LAN and how it addresses the multiple access problem when sharing a broadcast channel. I started using Wireshark again for one of my labs this week and analyzed ARP and link-layer addresses, which gave me a clearer understanding of how devices communicate on a network. Additionally, I continued my work with Ethernet, link layer switches, and VLANs. This part was a little confusing as I felt like I did something wrong and couldn't get some things to work in my emulation of a four-network, three-router topology using Mininet. I'm looking forward to the final exam and think I'm ready and prepared for the upcoming final exam. I studied more and made sure I went over the final exam review sheet that was given to ensure that I had a clear understanding of all the topics that would be covered on the exam. All in all, looks like this class is coming to an end and I can say I learned new and valuable information.
